oh hey! I'm KatY! And I'm REALLY PUMPED YOU'RE HERE
I first and foremost, love pasta. You probably thought I was going to say something about photography. eh. I can live with that level of disappointment. I'm located in Greenwood, Indiana. You probably have no idea where that's at, but I'm fiercely loyal to this little place I call home. Oh, and it's a suburb of Indianapolis. You should also know that traveling is my jam. I'm the only person I know who actually loves sleeping in hotels. I laugh, a lot; and loudly. If you're looking for an employee, I'm not your girl. On any given day you can find me getting tacos or coffee with a past client. My husband is my sanity. My daughter and dogs are the reason I need sanity. I rock a lot of stripes. When I'm not taking selfies with my clients, you can find me watching reruns (Scrubs, The West Wing, Parks and Rec and Psych of course), dancing, cooking with too much butter and shopping. I really really want you to print your photos and I really really love photographing awesome humans.

here we go
I don't want normal. Bring silly. I don't want stuffy. I want you to wear clothes that are comfortable. Does your 3 year old only wear princess dresses right now? Outfit chosen. I don't want tears (although it might happen). Bring on the silly faces. In fact, everything goes much smoother if everyone just has fun. Families aren't perfect, and nothing is less authentic than forcing your kids to look at me and smile. Trust the process. Trust that we will have plenty of goofy games for your kids to play that will open them up, naturally. But that means YOU will also need to be willing to goof around to get real/true interactions. Also, everyone should eat before the session. Or bring (non-messy) snacks. No hangry dads, please!
Once you're ready to book, there will be a 50% non-refundable retainer (for the full sessions) due with a signed contract. Full session fee payment is required for the mini session.

Stu-stu-studio
here we go
Studio sessions are quite different than an outdoor session. While outside we want more color, and do welcome it in the studio; the studio is fit much more for soft, simple, neutral colors. Especially when it comes to newborns, we think the simpler the better. Simple, sweet, and timeless. Best part of studio sessions are that it isn't necessary to reschedule for weather. We book studio sessions during the week on Monday,Tuesday, or Wednesday. Most sessions will start at 10am. We do offer packages for multiple studio sessions booked at the same time!

what to wear
COLOR. ALL THE COLOR. BRING ON COLOR. AND PATTERNS. AND TEXTURE. Oh, and did I mention color?
Gone are the days where you wear matching shirts and blue jeans. The most important thing is to be comfortable. Having your photos taken is already slightly uncomfortable, so add in stuffy clothes? Recipe for disaster. First consider your location and consider the weather. Wearing heels while hiking to a waterfall would be difficult. Sweaters in September, when the weather isn't quite fall yet? Everyone is sweating and someone is probably swearing. Be comfy, be colorful.
For newborn and studio sessions, we prefer neutral, light colored clothing. Leggings, sweaters, dresses, tees and jeans are the best!
The best part is, we now offer styling services for FREE! Once you're booked, we will send out more information on how to use this service. It's something we just implemented and are so excited about it!
